First GM…now SGI
I was rather surprised when President Obama told GM and Chrysler to essentially get your act in gear, no pun intended. Clearly not on the same existential level, but I saw this press release from Silicon Graphics (SGI) that announced it had been acquired by Rackable Systems for approximately $25 million in cash. That’s little more than Ex-CEO of GM, Rick Wagoner’s approximately $20 million exit package. One of the beacons of the “old” Silicon Valley is existing the scene.
I used to work for SGI. This is indeed sad news.
